Document ImagingThe conversion of paper documents into electronic images. Once captured and stored onto your computer system, these documents may be easily retrieved in a matter of seconds.
DocumentAny formatted information that can be accessed and used by a person to communicate. Documents have a beginning, an end and may be represented through text, data, GIS Maps, spreadsheets, databases, audio, video, etc. Regardless of format, the purpose of a document is to simply convey information.
RecordsDocuments that have been set aside as evidence, and protected from alteration or change. The International Standards Organization defines records as “recorded information in any form, including data in computer systems, created or received and maintained by an organization or a person in the transaction of business and kept as evidence of such activity.” (ISO/DIS 154389)
